LONG STORY SHORT 💌

My name is Rachel and I am a design strategist at Vanguard currently based in Philadelphia. I’m a graduate of the University of Michigan where I studied user experience design, business, and creative writing.

I’ve always been moved by stories. When I was eight, I stuck gum behind my ear to replicate Violet Beauregarde’s mealtime habit from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, resulting in an unfortunate haircut. My love of reading and writing from a young age shaped me into a deeply empathetic human, which is what eventually led me into design.

My past experiences at The New York Times and GoDaddy have been focused on leveraging design as a tool to achieve a company's mission. As such, I’m interested in creative strategy at mission-driven companies, with roles that involving research, design, and writing.

Offline, you can find me reading (memoirs, literary fiction) / listening to indie music (The Strokes, Maggie Rogers) / journaling to know myself better / appreciating nature on a run / baking birthday cakes / writing for my blog. 🧸
